    Nossos caminhos são cheios de escolhas, experiências e aprendizados que nos moldam como indivíduos e influenciam nossa percepção do mundo ao nosso redor. Na exposição "Mes Voies", o artista Negritoo apresenta suas percepções dos caminhos que percorreu até agora, mostrando as cenas públicas de uma vida cotidiana que muitas vezes passam despercebidas, mas estão sempre presentes na vida de uma pessoa negra.

    Os trabalhos de Negritoo visam capturar situações imaginárias dentro de um contexto real de experiências vividas e percebidas. Às vezes, essas obras desafiam e inspiram perguntas ou simplesmente contemplam emoções, conectando o artista com sua ancestralidade e identidade afro-brasileira, trazendo um senso de pertencimento e representatividade.

    Our paths are filled with choices, experiences, and learnings that shape us as individuals and influence our perception of the world around us. In the exhibition "Mes Voies," the artist Negritoo presents his perceptions of the paths he has traveled so far, showing the public scenes of a daily life that often go unnoticed but are always present in the life of a Black person.

   Negritoo's works aim to capture imaginary situations within a real context of lived and perceived experiences. At times, these works challenge and inspire questions or simply contemplate emotions, connecting the artist with his Afro-Brazilian ancestry and identity, bringing a sense of belonging and representation.

Desde a diáspora negra que aconteceu na colonização do Brasil o preto vem sofrendo com o genocídio e com o Epistemicídio, que nada mais é quando uma cultura se sobrepõe a outra, destruindo o conhecimento, inferiorizando e criando uma dominação política e ideológica, ou seja, um apagamento da história e da importância da cultura negra.

Esta ideologia do branqueamento que se reflete até os dias atuais, era ainda mais evidente no final dos anos 70 e início do anos 80, onde os negros tinham pouca ou nenhuma representatividade em todos os campos da sociedade, principalmente nas mídias televisivas que eram a principal fonte de informação, onde produtos, serviços ou leis não os beneficiavam.

Neste mesmo contexto o artista Negritoo, que foi criado na periferia da zona norte de São Paulo, cresceu em um território inóspito, mas que provavelmente pelo o ambiente familiar em que foi criado, não sentiu o racismo tão evidente quanto outras pessoas, talvez por uma incompreensão e ingenuidade.

A série Identidade preta é um resgate nas memórias do artista e questionamentos do seu subconsciente de questões sobre sua identidade como homem negro em uma sociedade que expurga sua cultura, o seu ser e o não faz se sentir pertencente a este universo.

Em uma construção incessante de repertórios, Negritoo se utiliza de referências do cotidiano e da sua bagagem cultural para trazer de uma forma lúdica e por vezes irônica, um olhar particular sobre o resgate da sua identidade, da sua sua negritude, através de figuras femininas que são referências às mulheres que o formaram e atualmente são o foco do seu trabalho.

Since the Black diaspora that occurred during the colonization of Brazil, Black people have been suffering from both genocide and epistemicide, which is when one culture imposes itself on another, destroying knowledge, belittling it, and creating political and ideological domination—in other words, erasing the history and importance of Black culture.

This ideology of whitening, which persists to this day, was even more evident in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when Black people had little or no representation in all fields of society, especially in television media, which was the main source of information, where products, services, or laws did not benefit them.

In this same context, the artist Negritoo, who was raised in the outskirts of São Paulo's northern zone, grew up in a harsh environment. However, possibly due to the family setting in which he was raised, he did not perceive racism as clearly as others—perhaps due to a lack of understanding and naivety.

The Identidade Preta (Black Identity) series is a recovery of the artist's memories and subconscious questioning about his identity as a Black man in a society that rejects his culture, his being, and makes him feel like he does not belong to this universe.

In an ongoing construction of repertoires, Negritoo draws on everyday references and his cultural background to bring, in a playful and sometimes ironic way, a unique perspective on the recovery of his identity and Blackness, through female figures that reference the women who shaped him and are now the focus of his work.
